Pricing Questions
What does it cost to collect payments?
When families pay your unit online for a campout or other event, your unit pays Stripe's card processing fee at cost (currently 2.9% + 30¢ for US cards), as any business taking cards does. On the Free plan, Grouperly, which runs Scoutosia's accounts and payments, adds 1%. On Scoutosia Pro there's no Grouperly fee. Every fee is shown before anyone pays.
Can I try Scoutosia Pro before paying?
Yes: start on Free, which is free for as long as you like, with no credit card. Scoutosia Pro is billed from the day you choose it, and you can cancel any time: your unit keeps it until the end of what you've paid for, then goes back to Free with nothing deleted.
Where do we buy Scoutosia Pro?
In the Grouperly app, under Group settings → Plan & billing. Scoutosia runs on your Grouperly account, so your unit's plan and invoices live there. Only the unit's owners can buy or change its plan. Prices don't include sales tax; if tax applies, it's shown before you pay.
What if our unit can't afford Scoutosia Pro?
We offer grants for units in need. Email us at support@scoutosia.com and we'll work something out. No scout unit should miss out because of budget constraints. (Child accounts for scouts under 13 need a paid plan, so they aren't part of a grant.)
Is this per unit or per leader?
Per unit. One subscription covers your entire troop/pack/crew, its dens and patrols, and all adult leaders. Everyone on your leadership team gets access.
Can we cancel anytime?
Absolutely. No long-term contracts. Scoutosia Pro renews automatically each month or year until one of your unit's owners cancels. After cancelling, you keep it until the end of your billing period. Nothing is deleted when you move to Free: advancement records stay readable, and texts go by email.
